Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of science concepts within the themes of occupations, water, air, fire, and communication tools for early childhood students at RA DDI Assalman. Science learning for young children focuses not on mastering abstract concepts, but on concrete experiences that encourage them to observe, ask questions, experiment, compare, predict, and communicate simple findings. The study employs a descriptive qualitative approach, utilizing data collection techniques such as classroom observation, semi-structured interviews with the school principal and teachers, and the documentation of instructional materials and children's work. Data analysis involved data condensation, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that the occupation theme introduces connections between professions, tools, technology, and natural phenomena; the themes of water, air, and fire stimulate understanding regarding the properties of objects, changes, safety, and cause-and-effect relationships; while the communication tools theme introduces concepts related to sound, symbols, messages, media, and simple technology. Effective implementation requires the use of concrete materials, open-ended questions, simple experiments, role-playing, and authentic assessment. The study underscores that thematic science learning at RA DDI Assalman should be designed as an exploratory experience that is safe, contextual, and appropriate for the children's developmental stages.
