Abstract

This study aims to analyze science learning integrated with the themes of animals, plants, and recreation in terms of stimulating curiosity in early childhood. Curiosity serves as a crucial foundation for science learning, as it encourages children to observe, ask questions, experiment, compare, predict, and discover answers through concrete experiences. The study employs a descriptive qualitative approach, utilizing data collection techniques such as classroom observations, semi-structured interviews with early childhood educators, and the documentation of instructional materials and children's work. Data analysis involved data condensation, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that the animal theme stimulates curiosity through the observation of animal characteristics, movement, diet, habitats, and behavior; the plant theme fosters curiosity through activities such as planting, watering, observing growth, and comparing plant parts; and the recreation theme provides scientific experiences through field trips, environmental exploration, observation of real objects, and reflective conversations. Science learning integrated with these three themes is effective when designed around play-based activities, simple inquiry, concrete media, open-ended questions, and authentic assessment.
